FlyPix Release: v3.6.0
Version 3.6.0 focuses on navigation and annotation flexibility in the workspace. You can now rotate the map directly, level the view against real-world features in two clicks, and collapse the workspace sidebar for more working space.
This release also adds regular polygon variants to the Bounding Box and Oriented Box tools, expands region description length to 250 characters, and improves platform visibility with in-app documentation links and a new status page. Polygon training regions and the georasters page have been removed in this version for compatibility purposes.
Changelog
New Features and Improvements
The Bounding Box and Oriented Box tools are now groups, each containing a new Regular Polygon variant. Draw a bounding box and the tool inscribes a regular polygon with a configurable number of vertices (3–64, default 16) and angle offset (0–360°). Use Alt + scroll to adjust vertex count and Ctrl + scroll to rotate while drawing. Hold Shift to draw from center.
You can now collapse the workspace sidebar to maximize viewport space.
A new Rotate Map tool is now available in the Navigate group (alongside Pan). Click and drag on the map to freely rotate the view to any angle.
The new Level tool lets you align the map to any real-world feature in two clicks. Select it from the Navigate group, click a first point, then click a second point along the edge or line you want to appear horizontal — the map smoothly rotates to match.
We have added a few links to this documentation in the app. You can now access this page via the navigation bar in the app and from select places such as the training overview in the workspace. This has also replaced the in-app training guide, replaced in favor of our new training guidelines.
We have launched a new status page to provide real-time updates on the health of our services. You can subscribe to updates for specific components or the entire system. The app status is also always visible in the app's header.
Codeblocks in geosense now have a copy button for easy copying of their contents.
Changes
The maximum length for region descriptions has been increased from 150 to 250 characters.
Removed Features
Due to issues with training quality and performance, we have temporarily disabled creation of polygon training regions. We plan to reintroduce this feature once we have reworked our training pipelines to better support it.
The georasters page has been removed from the app as we have not seen much usage and it largely duplicates the functionality of project data management. We are open to feedback and may reintroduce this feature in the future if there is demand for it.
Fixes
Fixed a selection issue in training mode where invisible annotations could be selected with the select tool.
Fixed a scene renaming issue causing them to be shifted to the end of the scene list.
